Day 2 in Toulouse, we headed off to an out of town space centre to see what it had to offer us.
The centre itself was mainly based around satellite communication but had some really interesting exhibitions on Mars and also a full size Arian rocket too!
After a disgusting lunch (supposedly omlette, but more like vomlette -- see what I did there?) we caught a bus back into town, hoping to catch a train to Castelnaudry. We were, however, unlucky enough to see that the continuing strike related problems in France caused all trains going that way to be struck off. A little frustrated, we retreated back to an internet cafe.
Our last day in France was to be spent in Carcassonne. Things looked up as we arrived in this gorgeous city boasting the most complete medieval structures in Europe. We headed through the new city centre, and over the 'Vieux Pont' (old bridge!) and were confronted by panoramic views of this amazing hill-top city.
Known as La Cite, it comprised two outer walls, and then a whole host of miandering streets lined with shops and cafes within. After exploring this for most of the day, we headed back for an early night before our next day of 7 1/2 hours travelling accross the border.
